Our mission
From day one, our mission has been clear: serve exceptional coffee and made-to-order food, while being a proud and active member of the neighborhood. We believe coffee shops are more than a place to grab a drink. They are where community happens. Whether it is hosting local meetings, donating to school fundraisers or giving kids a place to run a car wash, Renegade is always ready to give back.
Where it started
Scottsdale, 2018
After months of looking for the right corner, the first Renegade opened at Granite Reef and McDonald, surrounded by local businesses, schools and genuinely good people, and with a rare drive-thru window. It has been the neighborhood's drive-thru coffee shop ever since.
Our second shop
Mesa, 2021
In late 2021 we opened our second shop on West University Drive, a few minutes from the ASU campus. It has a drive-thru for the mornings you are running late, plenty of seating for the afternoons you need to study, and a patio out front.
The third shop
Phoenix, 2024
In August 2024 we opened our third shop at 1912 West Northern Avenue in Phoenix, with long tables for meetings, a patio for slow mornings and a drive-thru for everyone on the go.

A fun fact
Named after a song
When it came time to name the shop, inspiration came from an unexpected place: the Thomas Rhett song Renegades. It captured the spirit Kris pictured, something fun and rooted in individuality and authenticity. The name stuck, the star went up on the window, and the rest of the family signed on.
Family owned
Still a family business
Renegade is owned and run by an Arizona family, and most days you will find us behind the counter or wiping down a table. We hire from our own neighborhoods and show up for the schools and small businesses around us. And when you walk in, we would rather know your name than your order number.
